If you've been to a freestyle forum I'm sure you have read things like this "yesterday I pulled this combo of: atw-tatw-htw-htw-amatw-htw" and after you read that part you had absolutely NO idea what that meant. Well... here is a little trick lesson for you.
All tricks executed with the feet can be done both from footstall (balancing the ball on the foot) or juggling/kickups. The most common is to do it from juggling though.
Foot Ball Drills
ATW = around the world: The move you see everywhere... while juggling you kick it up, and at the same time you try to spin your leg around the ball. This is the key to ALL combos* out there, easy or hard. If you master this move you will have so much more control! Also many of the trick you do with your feet(so called airmoves)is a variation of the around the world trick, so make sure you know it 110%. HTW = hop the world: This is also a very common move that alot of people can do. When you kick the ball up with your wrong foot you go around the ball with your other leg. So kick it up with right foot (if you're left footed) and go around the ball with your left foot. Once you know this move very well and want to get more into combos you can also learn this move with your other leg. Crossover = one of the few tricks that is not named "the world" somewhere in the name. Basically this is not an around the world trick. It's a bit hard to explain but if you don't understand you can always watch the video and see how it's executed and then read this again. Kick the ball up with your better foot(in this case the left foot). When the ball is around chest height you start to prepare a little jump. The thing here is that you have to time your jump and your movements. You are supposed to bring your left foot over the ball and when your legs are "crossed" you hit the ball back up with your right foot. So the left leg shall go over the ball, when the legs are crossed, hit the ball back up with your right foot. Neckstall = this move is exactly what it sounds like. You balance the ball on your neck. You can do this from footstall, juggling, you can do it from headers (juggling with your head) or even straight from some tricks. * Combos = A combo is many tricks combined in to one sequence. So you do every trick straight into the next one without any juggling in between.
