"Select" teams of youth football is something of a controversial issue for some. If done correctly, you can not be a bad idea.
"Select" soccer teams for kids are just what they say, players are "selected" to play on your computer. If some players are "selected" in the sense that others are "rejected", that is where the problem is for many.
Many youth football teams selected by coaches gathered to actively recruit "show" a star team.Others have put in place for coaches to try smaller groups of players to see which players have everything you need to play on your computer. Most of the "select" teams have a week of practice and evaluation at the end of the week, the coaches decide which players make the team and what not. Needless to say there is much dissatisfaction among the players and parents at the end of the week.
Many of these teams travel to tournaments and state the cost aywherefrom $ 150 to over 1,200 to play. Playing youth football league composed of other "select" teams. The competitive nature of these leagues and the fact Than That athletes are generally better in ways that in many cases, there is less attention paid to getting the right amount of playing time each player.
Advantage "Select" teams
1) Put the most athletic players in competition with other players more athletic. So you get the highest level ofimprovement.
2) inadequate unless very athletic players against weaker players or beginners.
3) Generally, but not always, the best education.
4) The players are grouped with others with similar levels of commitment, less conflict between the players.
5) Put the players in sports in the pool to play with players close to their capacity.
6) often allows players the first year or so to play against another first year or less.
Negative
1) Can be ultracompetitive.
2) You can save the players if they practice five nights a week and play 14 games.
3) Cut the players is difficult and may turn some away from football forever.
4) The assessment of the players is not an exact science, mistakes can and are usually made.
5) And 'playing time guaranteed for those rare down the lane "index of the selected team.
6) The high cost, in many cases heavy or extra effort.
7) Envy and jealousy of the players and parentsnot selected for the "selection" of the team.
Omaha with my program, a process that appears to eliminate negative numbers. We have a small team that plays in a league of other equipment selected. All other players not selected are placed in teams playing in a league composed of players who were not elected for their respective teams selected. We have all the players in a group practice of age and for a week. Select team coaches nominate the team that seemsappropriate for the level of athletic players, maturity, size and aggressiveness.
Our rural program is selected, a team that fall into this age group who distribute flyers in the school.
Here are some things we can do to reduce some problems with teams from the following:
1) All teams in our organization using the same set of equipment and practices, including sweaters. No preference is given to the selection of the team.
2) The teams are designated by the parkIn practice, not "A" or "B". Spinglake-Screaming Eagles, Screaming Eagles-Smith Park etc.
3) We accept everyone who signs up or wants to play, there is no selective recruitment.
4) Each player is assigned to a team not to cut.
5) Each player understands that all teams are as important as the other players and the computer will offer the best chance to play.
6) Teams are limited to select 24 players or less, to ensure that everyone canplays.
7) Instead of announcing that the players have selected the team, we, the coaches of the five teams in five different areas of the field. Let children know that we are screaming their names in alphabetical order on what equipment is set. All decisions that the teamwork that made the day before, not ripping the heart decisions are made in the field. If a player is not selected for the selected team, part of the team that practices closer towhere you live. As the names of the players' are called, the player goes to the team that have been assigned and coaches and players applauded as the Highest level in five years, etc. and make a huge problem that the player is currently with their respective teams. Our selection process is a situation where everyone is smiling and happy. Head football coaches really boring that children are happy to have all players on your computer and talk to the specific identity of individualequipment.
8) outside the City Bowl teams are awarded according to academic performance via our weekly report weekly academic responsibility. Often our best teams do not travel because they have the academic performance of our other teams.
Select youth football is not necessarily a negative connotation around it, if managed properly. Try to eliminate stress and embarrassment among the players who are not elected.
I remember one time in a long selection processfor a young baseball team to play. Coach "just reading the names of the players who made the first team. My stomach wretch like him down to 11 names on a list of 12 players and my name was not called WAS. I was thinking how embarrassing it Would not Players the team, what team my friends or my parents? who have not made the team said to go home, while the rest of us stayed to listen to the instructions coach. 's eyes and tearseyes of the players is something I will never forget and do my best to never let that happen in my organization. This must be done and as we all know, most "progress children B" to make the "A" team next year. Do not be one of those teams that lose players because they can not manage this task well.
